Egon Schiele

Egon Schiele was born on June 12, 1890 and passed away on October 31, 1918. He was an Austrian painter. He was the first figurative painter of the early 20th Century. He was very intense in his artwork and enjoyed doing self portraits. He was one of the artists to lay the foundation for what would later become known as Expressionism. His artwork got a lot of controversy because they thought it was grotesque, erotic, pornographic, or disturbing.
